Valentines Day Cards

I wrote about this on my family's website and thought it might need mentioning here. Valentines Day is just around the corner. And for those of us (guys pay attention!) who procrastinate on getting our loved one a card or gift, I've found a website that lets you print out a Valentines Day card at the last minute! And best of all, they're FREE! The only requirement is that you have to have a PDF reader to be able to print them out. Don't fret. Dragon10, the 'ole webmaster, can help you with that if you want. Just shoot me an email!

  • Just wanted to invite you and your band boosters to the school board meeting on Thursday, 2/8 at 7:30 pm. The boosters are planning to ask the board to give us the go ahead to start field preparation work, scoreboard installation and goal post installation so the fields will be ready by fall. We'd love to have all the support we can at this meeting. thanks very much and hope to see you all there!

U of L School of Music Jazz Week 2007

Cookie Dough Bonus Days

Order your cookie dough today! Students going to Florida this summer will have an opportunity to earn extra money to help with the cost of the trip. How? By selling Market Day Cookie Dough!

Cookie dough order forms will go out to the students this week. They are separate from the regular market day order forms. As with the pie push in November, students will take orders and collect the payment for the cookie dough. They will turn it in to Mr. Hoover on or before Feb. 19th. Our goal is to sell 250 boxes of cookie dough. That's an $825.00 profit that will go directly into student travel accounts. The more the kids sell, the larger the profit...pretty simple math. If anyone has any questions, they can contact Linda Durham.

We know you that the tantalizing smell of freshly baked cookies sets your taste buds into to overdrive causing you to crave a warm cookie and a class of milk. So go ahead and find a band student and order some Market Day Cookie Dough today! Heck, go ahead and order two so you'll have enough cookies for that late night snack!

New Features Added!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I am very excited to announce a new addition to our website!

I have always desired to have certain features for our website since its inception. One of my visions is to have a website that is interactive for us as well as the band students. We are now a step closer to this! This morning, I am happy to announce that the Announcement page of our website will have the capability to add comments after a post or entry. You will now be able to add your thoughts right then and there following the reading of the announcment! How cool is that!

Another feature is that the announcements will be categorized. The main announcement page will contain all the announcements in the order that they are entered. Let's say that an entry for Market Day is entry number five, and then I add another entry later from Mr. Hoover for an upcoming event. The Market Day entry may have gotten "pushed" down the list and is not visible on the main announcement page, but it is not gone! All you have to do is click the Market Day link in the category section in the menu on the right side and it will take you to the Market Day Category and the announcements associated with it.

Do you want to see items for a specific month? No problem. Just click that month in the right menu and you will be taken to the announcements put out for that month. How about a particular day? We've added a small calendar on the top right that contains links to announcements on certain dates. If you want to see a particular date, just click it. If there is an announcement done on that day, then you will be taken to that date.

I have diligently worked to get this feature going for us. I think it will be neat to announce things like the upcoming solo and ensemble contest and to be able to add a comment wishing the kids good luck. Or, to add band articles that helps educate, inform and promote band programs. If you want to leave a comment under an entry, click the 'Comment' link. A form will open up that allows you to enter your name, email address, website, and comment. You can preview your entry before 'publishing' it if you like. You also click the 'Comment' button to read any of the comments associated with the announcement. And, we have made it easy for you to share your thoughts right after reading them by putting the comment form at the bottom of the page. I will be monitoring the responses to make sure they are responsible and civil. Responses submitted by readers that are defamatory or deemed, by the webmaster, to be racist or obscene will be deleted.

I encourage you to please use our new feature!

There is a half day of school today.
